2026-27 Interdistrict Applications

The 2026-2027 Interdistrict Application Window will open January 14, 2026. The information and guidelines are below, but note that the application window will not open until January 14.

Windsor Unified School District is proud to provide many unique programs and learning opportunities that have made us a highly sought after option for students from other local districts. Some of what makes us special includes clustered elementary schools (students are connected by grade, not neighborhood), a traditional 6th through 8th grade middle school (that also offers students two electives and/or intervention support classes and an unmatched number of elective, STEM and culinary opportunities), and a high school core system offering specialized programs and classes, small learning communities, and a strong base for future success. Learn more about what we offer and how to become a Windsor Jaguar below.

Interdistrict Guidelines for the 2026-27 School Year

WUSD is always happy to welcome students from other districts; however, to guarantee right-sized staffing and appropriate classroom space for the coming school year, we will accept and approve interdistrict transfers on a specific time frame. Please see the application window and potential restrictions below. In addition, while our goal is to welcome every student, different grade levels and programs may have various levels of availability, which may restrict transfer approvals (for example, there may be ample space in 3rd grade but not 5th grade).

All applications received must include all required paperwork to be considered complete.

Interdistrict Transfers Application Time Frame:

Jan. 14, 2026 to May 1, 2026

All completed applications (meaning all necessary forms completed and turned in), submitted during this time will be reviewed and approved in time for PK/TK/K registration opening in February of 2026.  (Other grades open starting Feb. 14). Admission is likely barring any disqualifying issues in application, such as discipline, grades, attendance, and/or program capacity. Families will be notified of acceptance within 14 days of May 1, 2026.

Waitlist Status begins May 2, 2026

Any/all applications received after May 1, 2026 may be accepted, but notification and acceptance is not guaranteed prior to the first day of school in August 2026.

For APPROVED Interdistrict Transfers:

Once you have received an email confirmation that your Interdistrict transfer application has been approved, your next step is to complete your Aeries online enrollment by May 15, 2026. If completed after May 15, your acceptance will now be based on availability in grades/programs and your enrollment may be scheduled until after the first day of school. See Second Window Above.
