Sandy Dobbins has two children who have achieved success though Windsor schools, with the eldest now away at a college and her youngest currently enrolled at Windsor High School. She first became involved in District concerns in 2000, after which she was awarded the Windsor PTA’s Children’s Award in 2001-2002. She served as a parent representative on Windsor Creek’s site council, and became a founding member of the WUSD Board Budget Advisory Committee. She was then appointed to an interim position on the School Board in June of 2002, where she has subsequently won reelection to three four-year terms on the Board. She is committed to public education, and toward protection and enhancement of the academic experience for all of Windsor’s students.
She is currently employed as the accounting manager for a local construction company, and holds certification as a Construction Contracts Administrator from the Construction Specification Institute of America. She believes that being a successful Board member requires leadership, vision, personal integrity, honesty and foremost, a strong focus on student needs in her governance role.
