Windsor Independent Study at Home (WISH)

Started as a virtual, on-line school shortly after Windsor High School opened, the current WISH program supports over 100 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade, who are highly motivated and independent learners and who often seek less distraction or more time available for other schooling, work or activities. Students meet with teachers at least once a week then focus on work individually for 4 to 16 hours a week depending upon their course load.

Alternative Education & Employment Program (AEEP)

Alternative Education & Employment Program (AEEP) focuses on core subjects (Math, English, Social Studies, Science) and elective work/test-taking/skills-building. This program prepares students for taking the Graduation Equivalency Diploma (GED) or California High School Proficiency Exam (CHSPE) while still earning high school credit and includes a work readiness/experience component where students work and learn about resume-building and interviewing skills.  The afternoon program is housed on the Windsor Oaks Academy campus and is kept small (15 students) to best serve the needs of students.

Drop-Out Prevention Program (DPP)

The Drop-Out Prevention Program (DPP) is a shortened-day, short-term program for students who have had attendance issues in the past and need to recover credits while building skills in getting back to a regular program.  The focus will be on core subjects (Math, English, Social Studies, Science) with computer-supported, credit earning opportunities.  Students meeting an 85% attendance rate and a GPA of 2.0 or higher will be transitioned to a regular program at the grading periods.  The morning program is housed on the Windsor Oaks Academy campus and is kept small (15 students) to best serve the needs of students

Home & Hospital

For students with a need to rehabilitate at home due to illness or injury lasting longer than three weeks, the Windsor Unified School District provides a Home & Hospital program wherein a certificated teacher visits the home or other agreed-upon meeting place to provide instruction in core academic subjects. Home & Hospital teachers work closely with students’ home school of enrollment to ensure standards-aligned curriculum that facilitates a smooth transition upon the student’s return to a daily program.

Adult Education

The Windsor Adult School, enrolling over 200 students a year, is housed on the Cali Calmecac Language Academy campus (Room 6) and is an open-entry program with no fees or textbook costs for interested adults residing in the area. Currently, multi-level English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and ESL Computer Literacy classes are offered during the day (with free childcare) and in the evening. Classes are designed to give students the opportunity to learn life skills to succeed in their family, work, and community environments.
