Herrington,Ph.D. Superintendent Moves On Dr. Steve Herrington will leave the Windsor Unified School District on January 2, 2011, to begin his four-year term as the Sonoma County Superintendent of Schools. Since his arrival in the District, WUSD has received six California Distinguished School Awards, a California Golden Bell, and the Governor's Award for Environment and Leadership. Over the past six years, the District secured the passage of a $50 million school construction bond, and $22 million in state matching grants. The School Board will appoint an interim superintendent for the period of January through June 2011. Over spring 2011, the Board will hire a consultant to conduct a national search for a permanent school superintendent to begin in July 2011.
